BAR 45

On the mezzanine of 45 Park Lane, reached by the sculptural staircase that rises from the hotel's lobby lounge, BAR 45 is the Dorchester Collection's Mayfair cocktail room. Long and narrow, it is lined in dark timber and warm leather, with commissioned artwork that changes every few months, so the space doubles quietly as a gallery. Red and yellow banquettes run its length, framed black-and-white portraits line one wall, and the bar carries what is reckoned among the largest selections of American wines in the country.

The draw is the Negroni trolley, wheeled to the table in the manner of an old dessert cart. The bar team builds your choice in front of you from a short list of house variations, each paired with a bespoke edible fragrance, alongside a rare vintage serve poured from decades-old Gordon's and Antica Formula. In 2025 the room introduced Simplicity, a menu ordered by flavour rather than recipe. The kitchen behind it is Wolfgang Puck's CUT, so the bar snacks run to Wagyu sliders, Dorset crab rolls and tuna cones.

BAR 45 keeps its own hours, open to midnight and later for hotel residents, and hosts live DJ nights that give the room a genuine after-dark charge. For a private event it takes exclusive hire, arranged through the house.
