/ About

Artists' Bar sits at the far end of The Promenade on the ground floor of The Dorchester, part of the hotel's first ground-floor renovation in more than thirty years, which reopened in November 2022. Pierre-Yves Rochon designed the room around a semi-circular bar, black pillars capped in gold, powder-blue seating and a Lalique crystal chandelier. Liberace's mirrored piano, meticulously restored, stands on a checkerboard marble floor at its centre.

The bar takes its name from The Dorchester's long history of hosting artists, musicians, authors and playwrights. Original works by British artists line the walls, and six signature cocktails are named after them, each built around the ideas behind the piece. Champagne leads the list, alongside a British seafood menu of caviar, oysters, lobster and sashimi, and drinks arrive tableside on bespoke trolleys.

One of two bars on The Dorchester's ground floor, alongside the Vesper Bar, Artists' Bar reads as the hotel's showpiece room for an evening of champagne and entertainment. It takes private receptions by arrangement through the house, a glamorous, art-led setting for a celebration or a launch in Mayfair.
