Yousuke Yukimatsu, the Osaka DJ whose genre-crossing sets carried him from construction work to Coachella, headlines his own London night at O2 Academy Brixton.

Yousuke Yukimatsu, the Osaka DJ who entered the world’s top 100 DJ poll in 2026, headlines O2 Academy Brixton on Saturday 27 March 2027.

Born in Osaka in 1979, Yukimatsu grew up on his father’s Deep Purple records and first played a friend’s party in 2008. For years he worked in construction by day and played parties in Osaka and Kobe by night.

In 2014 the Tokyo techno DJ Nobu heard him and invited him to his Future Terror party. After a brain tumour diagnosis in 2016 and two operations, he left his job to DJ full time.

His 2020 mix Midnight Is Comin’, built almost entirely from exclusive tracks by little-known Japanese experimental musicians, took him on tour across Europe. A Tokyo set filmed in early 2025 passed 12 million views within six months, and 2026 brought the Sahara Tent at Coachella and the Montreux Jazz Festival.

Brixton is his own headline night, billed under the stylised name he performs as. The set moves from hard techno and acid house to the pop references that ran through the Tokyo set.
