Un ballo in maschera

Philipp Stölzl directs a new production of Verdi’s Un ballo in maschera, opening on the Main Stage at Covent Garden on Monday 30 November 2026 and running to Friday 18 December. Jakub Hrůša conducts, with Charles Castronovo, Malin Byström, Aleksei Isaev, Anita Rachvelishvili and Kseniia Nikolaieva leading the cast. It is sung in Italian with English surtitles and runs two hours and fifty minutes with a single interval. Every date is sold out and the box office is holding returns only. Hrůša conducts this and the season’s new Parsifal in October — the two new productions he opens before Christmas.
