The Fashion Awards 2026

Monday, 30 November 2026 Royal Albert Hall · South Kensington

The British Fashion Council holds The Fashion Awards at the Royal Albert Hall on Monday 30 November 2026. Red-carpet access is arranged with the Council rather than sold.

The British Fashion Council established these awards in 1989 to recognise the people and houses making the largest contribution to fashion in a given year, and they were called the British Fashion Awards until 2016. The change of name marked a change of scope: the ceremony now honours international designers, models and businesses alongside British ones, and the Council uses the evening as the industry’s own annual assessment of itself rather than as a press event.

An awards night in fashion works differently from one in film. There is no academy, no long voting season and no campaign: the categories are decided by a committee and announced close to the night, and the value of a win is measured in the buying orders and investment conversations that follow rather than in a weekend gross. Winning Designer of the Year has reordered several careers, and the Council announces the shortlists only weeks beforehand. The ceremony has moved between the Royal Albert Hall and other London rooms across its life.

The 2026 ceremony is at the Royal Albert Hall on Monday 30 November. It closes the British fashion year, three months after the September shows and two before the February ones. The room contains the designers, the houses, the buyers and the models in one place, which happens once a year and nowhere else. Money raised goes to the Council’s education and talent programmes.
