The Bayeux Tapestry

The Bayeux Tapestry is shown at the British Museum from Thursday 10 September 2026 to Sunday 11 July 2027, on loan from France. The museum bills it as a historic loan, and the tapestry has not left Normandy for display in Britain before. Ten months is the longest exhibition the museum has scheduled, which is a function of how rarely the loan can be repeated rather than of the demand for it.
