Evgeny Titov makes his Royal Opera debut with a new staging of Wagner’s last opera, on the Main Stage at Covent Garden from Thursday 1 October to Saturday 17 October 2026. Jakub Hrůša conducts, with Stanislas de Barbeyrac, Ekaterina Gubanova, Christian Gerhaher and Brindley Sherratt in the principal roles. The house gives the running time as five hours and thirty minutes, including two intervals. Every performance in the run is presently sold out, and returns are the only route in. The first night’s curtain is at half past four in the afternoon, which is the plainest statement of scale the Royal Opera can make.
