London Design Week runs at the Design Centre Chelsea Harbour from 8 to 12 March 2027, 140-plus showrooms and 30-plus pop-up House Guests, free to all.
An interiors showroom is not a shop and not a stand, and the Design Centre is built entirely out of them. More than 140 of them sit under one roof at Chelsea Harbour, each one a house’s own space, staffed by its own people and open the other fifty weeks of the year, which means a fabric can be seen against the collection it belongs to rather than on a display built for five days. The building has grown continuously since 1987 and now runs to 28,000 square metres, the largest concentration of its kind anywhere.
London Design Week is the spring half of its year, and the difference from the autumn week is the calendar rather than the format. Spring is when the international houses launch the collections that will furnish the following year, so this is where the British interiors trade sees what it will be specifying for the next twelve months.
The 2027 edition runs from Monday 8 to Friday 12 March. More than thirty House Guests take temporary space inside the Centre alongside the resident showrooms. Entry is free and no trade credential is asked for, which is unusual for houses that otherwise sell only through the trade. The Centre stages Focus each September and WOW!house, a five-week showhouse launched in 2022, each summer, so the building carries three trade weeks a year.
