For two days in May the street of bespoke tailoring closes to traffic and fills with collector cars, each matched with a house on the Row.
Concours on Savile Row, a collector-car show launched in 2022, returns to Savile Row in Mayfair on Wednesday 19 and Thursday 20 May 2027. The dates are subject to approval from Westminster City Council, after renovation work on the Row postponed it.
Tailors have worked on Savile Row since 1803, dressing kings, princes and heads of state. Henry Poole cut the first dinner jacket here in 1860, for the future Edward VII.
For two days the street closes to traffic, and collector cars from pre-war thoroughbreds to electric hypercars line the kerb. Each car is paired with a specific tailor. The tailors, shoemakers and galleries open their doors for talks and live music.
Best in Show is chosen by the Westminster City Lions, young people aged 13 to 16 judging style, history and provenance through the Hagerty Youth Judging scheme. In 2024 they chose a 1995 McLaren F1 once owned by Michael Andretti, the only surviving road car finished in Grand Prix Red.
The organisers say the extra year gives the 2027 edition a more considered programme. They weighed a September date and declined it, to avoid a crowded motoring calendar and London Fashion Week.
