Dominic Cooke directs Caryl Churchill’s Cloud 9 in the Lyttelton Theatre from Monday 2 November 2026 to Wednesday 13 January 2027. The National describes the production as a bold reimagining of Churchill’s daring classic, a play that sets identity, power and desire against each other across two eras and one company of actors. Ten weeks makes it the longest run on the National’s autumn schedule, carrying the Lyttelton through Christmas and into the new year. Churchill’s play is given here with one company of actors carrying both halves, which is the device the text is built on.
