The Athens party collective Trashformers brought Guilty Greek Pleasures, a night of 90s and 00s Greek pop, to O2 Academy Islington on the eve of the Eurovision final.

The Athens party collective Trashformers brought Guilty Greek Pleasures, a night of Greek pop from the nineties and after, to O2 Academy Islington on Friday 15 May 2026. Bessy Argyraki, who represented Greece at Eurovision in 1977, joined them as guest.

The collective began in 2004 in an underground venue in Patras, where playing 90s sounds out loud was still taboo. Its weekly Trash Party spread by word of mouth before the group moved to Athens in 2007.

Jimfast fronts the show on vocals and decks, alongside Gizmo and Areion. It grew from DJ sets into a full production of dancers, singers and long-absent guest performers.

Trashformers return to London roughly once a year, and had played this room and the Electric Ballroom in Camden before. The night fell on the eve of the Eurovision final and started earlier than usual. That brought out the Eurovision generation alongside the millennials the party was first built for.

Argyraki, born Vasileia Argyraki in Athens in 1957, sang in the quartet behind “Mathima Solfege”. She built a career on covers of European hits, and one of her singles reached the Japanese top ten.
