The Hellenic Bankers Association UK's 31st dinner moved to Drapers' Hall, seat of a City guild founded in 1361, six centuries older than the association it hosted.
The Hellenic Bankers Association UK held its 31st annual dinner at Drapers’ Hall in the City of London on Saturday 13 June 2026. It was the dinner’s first year at the hall of one of London’s oldest livery companies.
The Association connects bankers and financial professionals of Hellenic origin working in the City. Its Chairman’s Circle includes Christos Megalou, chief executive of Piraeus Bank since 2017 and formerly of Eurobank.
The annual dinner is the one evening that network gathers in full, in black tie, for networking, industry awards and a formal seated dinner. The Association runs smaller events through the rest of the year.
The Worshipful Company of Drapers traces itself to an informal fellowship of wool and cloth merchants recorded as early as 1180. It was founded as a guild in 1361 and granted its royal charter three years later. It was incorporated by charter in 1438.
The Drapers were the first City company to be granted its own coat of arms. More than 100 Lord Mayors of London have been among its members, and it still ranks third in order of precedence among the City’s 114 livery companies.
