The Hellenic Bankers Association UK, founded in 1994 as the network for Greek and Cypriot financiers in the City, marked thirty years with a gala at The Langham.
The Hellenic Bankers Association UK marked 30 years with a gala dinner at The Langham in Marylebone on Saturday 31 May 2025.
The Association was founded in 1994 to bring together bankers and financial professionals of Hellenic origin working in London. It describes itself as the most important networking platform for Greeks and Cypriots in Europe’s financial capital. It also calls itself a gateway between the City and Greek political, economic and business life.
Its speakers over three decades have included Yannis Stournaras, Governor of the Bank of Greece since 2014. Its stated goal has stayed the same throughout: to support the Greek economy and back the entrepreneurs building it.
The annual dinner is the one night the whole membership fills a room, together with the wider Greek business community around it. The Association’s other evenings through the year are smaller.
The Langham opened in 1865 as the largest and most modern hotel in the city of its day. It stands off Regent Street.
For the 30th anniversary, bankers, professionals and their guests gathered there for networking, industry recognition and a formal seated dinner.
