Stelana Kliris’s Find Me Falling, the first Cypriot film to premiere on Netflix, closed the UK Cyprus Film Festival at Cyprus House in St James’s on Sunday 20 September 2026. Kliris and the actor Agni Scott took questions afterwards.
Kliris was born in South Africa to Greek Cypriot parents, from Louvaras in the south of Cyprus and Rizokarpaso in the occupied north. She studied journalism at Rhodes University and moved to the island in 2010.
She made two short documentaries and a debut feature, Committed, and founded her production company, Meraki Films, in 2016.
Find Me Falling was shot entirely in Cyprus, in English. Harry Connick Jr. plays an American rock star who buys a seaside home unaware it sits near a suicide hotspot. The film reached the platform’s global top spot within days.
The Cultural Section of the Cyprus High Commission runs the festival and screened the film as its closing gala. The questions turned on how an independently made Cypriot production reached an international audience, and what the island’s film-makers do next with that precedent.
Scott, who has worked in Greek and Cypriot cinema for two decades, plays opposite Connick Jr.
