Euripides Laskaridis, a leading figure in Greek physical theatre since founding Osmosis in 2009, brought his solo work Relic to The Coronet on its farewell tour.
Euripides Laskaridis performed Relic, his solo work, at The Coronet Theatre in Notting Hill from Wednesday 2 to Saturday 5 April 2025. The Greek performer, who has worked with Robert Wilson and Dimitris Papaioannou, brought it on the piece’s farewell tour.
Laskaridis trained as an actor in Athens at the Karolos Koun Art Theatre. He studied directing at Brooklyn College in New York on an Onassis Foundation scholarship.
He has performed since 1995 and began directing his own work in 2000. He founded his company, Osmosis, in 2009, and received the Pina Bausch Fellowship in 2016.
Relic, his first touring piece, premiered in Barcelona in April 2015 and was selected for Aerowaves that year. It went on to more than three dozen festivals and venues, among them the Barbican Pit in London, and won a UK Theatre and Technology Award for its lighting.
The Coronet is his London home. Titans, his second touring work, sold out when it returned there in 2023.
Relic ran about forty minutes with no interval and no dialogue. Alone on stage, Laskaridis broke, distorted and reassembled the ordinary detritus of a life into a single unbalanced creature.
