The Coronet Theatre welcomed the Greek director and performer Euripides Laskaridis, widely regarded as a leading voice in the Theatre of the Absurd, for a four-night run of his solo work Relic. Across roughly forty minutes without interval, Laskaridis broke, distorted and reformed the detritus of everyday life, conjuring a lonely, unbalanced creature existing among objects, sound and ritual. The production carried distinctive Greek design credits, with sound by Kostas Michopoulos, lighting by Eliza Alexandropoulou and costume by Angelos Mentis. Internationally acclaimed, Relic arrived in Notting Hill on its farewell tour, a fitting close at one of London’s most atmospheric stages.
