Ziggy's

On the first floor of Hotel Café Royal, Ziggy's is a small bar and event room named for the night David Bowie retired Ziggy Stardust. Bowie held the farewell dinner that came to be called the "Last Supper" at the Café Royal on 3 July 1973, and the room keeps his company: fluted timber walls hung with framed rock photography of the era, red velvet sofas, pink leather stools and a black marble bar, with a print of the retirement dinner at its centre. It reads as a private den rather than a hotel bar, set back from the Regent Street entrance and lit low.

The room takes forty for a standing reception and sits within a hotel whose events team runs the rest of the building, so a party here can stay behind its own doors or open into the wider Café Royal. Natural daylight and blackout curtains let it work at any hour, and a private bar anchors the evening. It suits a birthday, a launch, or the later half of a longer night: intimate, glamorous, and unmistakably Bowie's room.
