Syon House & Syon Park

A clear-span glass house of 25 by 55 metres standing on its own lawns inside the park, hired May to September. Georgian arch windows, air conditioning, a sound system already installed and a dedicated kitchen space for the caterer. Beyond it lies Syon Woods Lawn, a private four-acre open-air enclave with adjoining woodland, and the whole event area has its own gated access.

Charles Fowler's glass-domed conservatory, built in cast iron with a neo-classical Palladian elevation and filled with palms and exotic trees. Hired from April to mid-October for ceremonies, receptions and dinners, and the one room on the estate where music and dancing are encouraged.

Newly refurbished and glazed in arches over the tidal water meadow, with neutrally painted walls that take whatever is brought in. The estate uses it for lunches, receptions and conferences by day and, transformed with lighting and dancefloors, for cocktails and dancing after dinner.

Robert Adam's Doric basilica, black and white marble underfoot and an intricately carved ceiling above, with statues of Roman nobles on their pedestals and a replica of Valadier's Dying Gaul at the top of the steps to the Ante Room. The largest room inside the house and the winter alternative to the conservatory.

A parterre garden at the centre of the house, laid out to Lady Salisbury's 1999 design in box-edged geometric beds within bath stone walls. Adam proposed a rotunda here and never built it. Used for al-fresco drinks before guests move inside or over to the conservatory.

136 feet of gilded and painted Corinthian pilasters, with a turret room at either end and roundels of the Percy lineage running the length of the walls. Planned by Adam for the ladies of the house to promenade; used now as a drinks reception room with plenty for guests to stop at.

Adam's room for parading, in his words, the conveniences and the social pleasures of life: Corinthian columns, gilded candelabra on Adam pier tables, and marble statues of Ceres and Bacchus, the gods of food and drink. It takes a long banquet table or a standing reception, and the original dining table's remnants are still hidden in a disguised cupboard.

A quiet room on the lower ground floor below the principal rooms, with natural light, level access and private surroundings. The estate's meeting and training space, set boardroom or theatre style.

The Duke's own pairing for a small evening: a pre-dinner drink in the Green Drawing Room, perhaps with a tune on the piano, before guests retire next door to dine around the grand table under the family portraits.

The open green of the estate, hired alone or alongside the house: the Lime Avenue, the Helicopter Field, the twenty-acre Farmer's Field, the enclosed Wilderness and the South Lawn. The estate takes balls, exhibitions, fashion shows and away days here and considers each one individually. Capacity is quoted on request.
