/ About
Sparrow Italia sits on Avery Row, the cobbled lane that runs up behind Grosvenor Street, and it has been one of Mayfair's louder social rooms since it opened in October 2022. It is the London flagship of Noble 33, the group behind Toca Madera, and the cooking is modern Italian: handmade pasta, wood-fired plates, a long wine list and a cocktail programme built on Italian bitters.
The building stacks four distinct rooms. The ground floor is a bar and brasserie, a long run of green banquettes under leaded windows facing a floor-to-ceiling back bar. Above it, the first-floor dining room is the one people photograph: glass-rod chandeliers over white-clothed tables, olive trees between them, a long marble bar along one side and, at the far end, an indoor garden under a glazed roof. The second floor is the quiet one, with drapery to the ceiling and a six-seat bar, and the third holds the cigar lounge, run by a Master of Havana Cigars. A seasonal roof terrace, Sparrow's Nest, sits above that.
For private events the house lets each floor separately, and every one of them has its own bar and lets a client set the music. That last point is the reason this room is worth knowing: the first and ground floors are large enough for a real reception, they are enclosed, and the sound in each is under the venue's own control rather than shared with the floor above. Hire is arranged by consultation with the events team.
/ Rooms Available
Floor One
PrivateThe first-floor dining room, and the room the restaurant is known for. Glass-rod chandeliers hang over white-clothed tables, olive trees stand between them and a long marble bar runs down one side. It opens into the indoor garden at the far end, under a glazed roof. Hired privately it takes 70 seated or 100 standing, with its own bar and the music set by the client.
Ground Floor
PrivateThe arrival room: a bar and brasserie with a floor-to-ceiling back bar, green velvet banquettes along the leaded windows and low brass table lamps. It works as a standing reception for 70 or a seated dinner for 45, and it has its own dedicated bar.
Floor Two
PrivateThe quietest of the three dining floors and the one the house sells for private dining. Drapery runs to the ceiling, a six-seat bar sits wall to wall, and the tables gather around an olive tree. It seats 40, or 25 on a single communal table, and takes 60 standing.
Sparrow's Nest
Semi PrivateThe roof terrace, open seasonally. Clipped hedging screens the tables from the Mayfair roofline, and it is laid for lunch and dinner in white linen. It takes 20 seated or 30 for a standing reception.
The Cigar Lounge
PrivateThird floor, and one of very few rooms of its kind in London. Leather tub chairs sit around low marble tables under a brass chandelier, facing a lit humidor wall. The selection is chosen by an in-house Master of Havana Cigars, a title held by fewer than 40 people worldwide. It holds 20 standing.
