Senate House

Senate House is the University of London's art deco headquarters in the university district of Bloomsbury, and the flagship of its event spaces. During the Second World War it housed the Ministry of Information.

Visitors arrive through the Crush Hall, a marble foyer with a carpeted staircase and art deco balustrades, which serves as the reception space for the two large halls beside it. Beveridge Hall takes gala dinners and award ceremonies under a glazed ceiling, and Macmillan Hall is one of the building's largest open floors, laid with patterned parquet. Chancellor's Hall pairs marble and oak with portraits of past chancellors.

For smaller gatherings there is the Senate Room, panelled in wood with three levels of tiered seating, and the Woburn Suite, a plain room that can be set in eight layouts. Thirteen further meeting rooms keep the building's art deco detailing. The university's events team handles bookings and catering from a kitchen connected to the halls.
