The Society of Chemical Industry has occupied 14/15 Belgrave Square since 1955, and hires its rooms openly to third parties. The house is Grade I listed: a stuccoed Belgravia terrace behind a columned portico, with an ironwork staircase rising under a skylight and six bookable spaces across the ground and lower ground floors.
The Council Room is what the address is really for. A decorated domed ceiling banded in gilt, brass sconces, and floor-to-ceiling French doors onto a private south-facing terrace that steps down to the courtyard gardens. It holds 100 for a reception and 50 at cabaret tables, and the Roscoe Room opposite can be opened alongside it. The Leverhulme Room has a terrace of its own overlooking the gardens; the Garden Room is a glazed conservatory giving directly onto the courtyard, where a planted garden was laid out in 2017. Below stairs, the Auditorium is a climate-controlled graduated theatre seating 130, with dimmable lighting, a surround sound system, video recording and hybrid streaming, and its own events entrance for registration.
Catering runs through three approved suppliers rather than an in-house kitchen, which leaves the menus open; refreshments are handled in house. Exclusive hire of the whole house is arranged on request.

Council Room
PrivateThe principal ground-floor room, under a decorated domed ceiling banded in gilt around a central sunburst. Floor-to-ceiling French doors open onto a private south-facing terrace, linked by stairs to the courtyard gardens. The original cornices and decorated plasterwork survive, the furniture is flexible, and the Roscoe Room opposite can be taken alongside it for larger events.
Garden Room
PrivateA glazed conservatory under a pitched glass roof, its arched windows opening directly onto the courtyard gardens. It has its own serving kitchen and a flexible layout, and works as a reception room, a breakout space or an exhibition floor. Included with Auditorium bookings, and available on its own.
Leverhulme Room
PrivateA contemporary ground-floor room with a black marble chimneypiece, a tall carved overmantel mirror and its own terrace looking over the gardens. It takes any layout, from a boardroom table to rows or cabaret rounds.
Roscoe Room
PrivateA recently refurbished room on the ground floor, directly opposite the Council Room. An original fireplace, bookcases and glazed cabinets of the society's collection give it more character than its size suggests, and two tall sash windows fill it with light. Used on its own or opened up with the Council Room.
Baekeland Room
PrivateA modern room on the lower ground floor, reached by the main stairs or the lift, with natural light and adjustable lighting. A wall-mounted touchscreen handles presentations and video calls, and catering can be delivered straight to the room. It seats 12 to 20 around a boardroom table.
Auditorium
PrivateA climate-controlled graduated theatre on the lower ground floor, seating 130 in tiered rows. Dimmable lighting, a surround sound system, a custom lectern, video recording and hybrid streaming. Hire includes the dedicated events entrance for registration and the Garden Room for refreshments and breakouts; for conferences above 130 the proceedings can be relayed into the Council Room.
