Redchurch Townhouse

Soho House's Shoreditch townhouse sits on a corner site that runs from Redchurch Street through to Whitby Street, a Georgian brick terrace stitched to a Victorian factory frame by 31/44 Architects. The concrete frame of the old building was kept, its brick stripped away, and a basement and two further floors added; the Redchurch Street elevation was detailed to sit with its flat-fronted Georgian neighbours, while the Whitby Street side carries plastered columns on the upper floors. It holds One MICHELIN Key and 37 bedrooms.

Soho House Design did the interiors, and they read 1950s and 1970s rather than period: velvet sofas, cane and rosewood chairs, custom chandeliers, graphic rugs and a house art collection hung room by room. The ground floor is the part that matters for hosting. A panelled drawing room with a bar-height reception counter opens onto Whitby Street through folding timber doors, and Cecconi's occupies the rest of the floor, a long Northern Italian room in striped mosaic tiling under fluted glass pendants.

There is no ballroom and no published function suite here, which is the point of it. The house is booked as a house: bedrooms for a weekend, the restaurant for a dinner, the drawing room for the arrival. Guests staying are treated as members for the duration, with access to Shoreditch House around the corner. Enquiries go through the group's events team rather than a marketplace.
