Osteria Angelina opened in May 2025 in Nicholls Clarke Yard, a restored Victorian warehouse inside the Norton Folgate development on the Spitalfields edge of Shoreditch. It is the sister restaurant to Angelina in Dalston, which Joshua Owens-Baigler, Amar Takhar and Laura Horta have run since 2019. Where the original works to a set kaiseki menu, the Osteria is a la carte, faster and deliberately less formal. There is no dress code, and the house line is that there is no right order to eat in.
Allford Hall Monaghan Morris kept the warehouse's bones, four-metre ceilings and exposed brick among them. Anna Owens Designs did the rest, in granite and Dalmata marble, with chairs made in Italy and tableware drawn for the room. An open kitchen runs down one side, and beside it a glass-walled pasta lab where the bread, pasta and gelato are made each day. Executive chef Usman Haider cooks Itameshi, Italian dishes built on Japanese ingredients, with larger cuts of meat and fish over binchotan charcoal. The wine list runs past 300 Italian bottles and the bar reads both ways too. The MICHELIN Guide lists it.
The private dining room sits just off the main floor. It is self-contained, with its own entrance and a server assigned to it, and it seats up to 20 around the same seasonal sharing menus, with wine pairings if the table wants them. The restaurant will arrange flowers or a playlist for a host who asks. Whole-venue hire is not published, so put it to the team.
