/ About

Leonardslee House is an Italianate mansion built in 1855, set at the head of a valley in 240 acres of Grade I listed woodland gardens near Horsham. Penny Streeter took on the estate in 2017 and restored the gardens, which reopened in 2019 after ten years closed. The house keeps its chandeliers, ornate ceilings and period detail, and its ten bedrooms are each decorated by a different British design house. It holds a Michelin Key.

Restaurant Interlude sits within the house. Executive chef Jean Delport, a Great British Menu banquet finalist, cooks a multi-course tasting menu from what the gardens, woodland and kitchen garden supply, and the restaurant holds a Michelin Star and a Michelin Green Star. From 2 October 2026 The Drawing Room, a new room inside the house, takes private lunches and dinners for up to 14 guests at one table, with the menu and wine agreed directly with the Interlude team.

For a larger occasion the house is let whole. Exclusive use brings all ten bedrooms, sleeping up to 20, and private run of the gardens after they close to visitors at 17:00, with Interlude's kitchen cooking throughout. The house seats 70 and takes up to 100 for an evening reception, and it is sold as a weekend rather than a single evening.
