/ About
Cromlix is a red sandstone Victorian mansion on 34 acres of gardens and woodland outside Dunblane, the town where Andy Murray grew up. Captain Arthur Drummond built the first house in 1874; fire destroyed it four years later and it was rebuilt in 1880, with a consecrated family chapel at its heart that has held its place for over 150 years. The house became a hotel in 1981, and Kim and Andy Murray bought the estate in 2013. Their own wedding was held here in 2015.
Kim leads the interiors, and the rooms read that way: bold wallpapers, Scottish artisans, RSA artwork in the Study and street art in the Library on the second floor of the original house. The Glasshouse, a skylit conservatory off the lawn, takes the larger dinners, and the Garden Room restaurant sits in a new glass-fronted building overlooking the main lawn. Cradle seats sixteen for a tasting menu in the house's former dining room, and the botanical bar has a marble counter and leather booths.
The house is let whole or in part. Exclusive use gives a party all 20 bedrooms and suites, Laurel Gate Lodge, the restaurants and every private and public room, and the events team introduces its partners for music, entertainment and photography. The hotel holds a MICHELIN Key and was AA Hotel of the Year for Scotland in 2024-25.
