/ About

Bonheur is Matt Abé's first restaurant under his own name. The Sydney-born chef led Restaurant Gordon Ramsay for years, holding its three stars, before opening here on 4 November 2025 with Gordon Ramsay Restaurants behind him. The two-Michelin-star kitchen took over 43 Upper Brook Street, the Mayfair townhouse that was home to Le Gavroche for more than five decades until it closed in early 2024.

Russell Sage Studio redrew the rooms in a palette of peach, rust, ochre and sandy walnut that nods to Abé's Australian roots. Burgundy velvet banquettes curve beneath dried-flower installations set on rare horsehair-papered walls, the round tables are topped in yellow leather, and sculptural waiter stations punctuate the floor. The cooking is classically built with accents from Australia and Asia, and head sommelier Eric Zwiebel runs the wine.

The most private seat is Petit Bonheur, a six-seat chef's table set within the dining room but distinct in its design, where Abé and his team present each course of the seven-course Dream menu and talk it through. It is booked as a single table for up to six guests. The restaurant serves lunch Thursday to Saturday and dinner Tuesday to Saturday, with the chef's table and group bookings arranged on enquiry.
