A single-artist sale is rare enough at this level to be the occasion in itself, and on Saturday 19 September 2026 Phillips gives an afternoon to David Hockney alone. It is drawn from the print work rather than the paintings, which is where a Hockney is still within reach: Three Kings and a Queen is estimated at £6,000 to £8,000, The Student, from Homage to Picasso at £10,000 to £15,000, and a plate from A Rake’s Progress at £4,000 to £6,000. Bidding opens at two at 30 Berkeley Square, with viewing from Friday 11 September, ten until six on weekdays and Saturday. The sale is run by the Editions department, so the room is the one that handles his printmaking rather than his market at large.
