Ponchielli’s La Gioconda runs on the Main Stage at Covent Garden from Thursday 29 April to Tuesday 18 May 2027, directed by Oliver Mears. The Royal Opera describes it as one woman’s love pushed to its limit, in a grand opera on the largest scale the house stages. It is the second Mears production of the spring, opening while his Tosca is still running.
