Jorja Smith was born in Walsall in 1997 and had been writing songs for six years by the time a friend put her cover of a Labrinth record online, aged fifteen, and that is how she was found. Lost & Found arrived in 2018 and made the case immediately: a contralto with no strain in it, songs that borrowed from R&B, UK garage and grime without belonging to any of them, and lyrics about her own town rather than an imagined one. Two BRIT Awards followed, and a body of guest work that put her on records by some of the biggest names in rap.

She has kept the pace deliberately slow since — Be Right Back in 2021, Falling or Flying in 2023 — and has been notably unwilling to chase the American market on its own terms. She releases through FAMM, her own label, and the guest verses have gone to records by Drake, Kendrick Lamar and Stormzy rather than to whoever was available, which is the same selectiveness the release schedule shows.

10 Years of Jorja Smith is a retrospective billing, and Saturday 17 July 2027 at The O2 arena is her first headline show in that room and her only UK arena date of the year. It sits in the arena’s twentieth-birthday series. Ten years, one arena night, and no support act announced.
