James Blunt brings the Airplane Mode Tour to The O2 arena on Sunday 4 April 2027, with special guests.
James Blunt was born in Tidworth in 1974, took a science degree at Bristol, and served six years in the Life Guards, leaving as a captain after a final posting to the Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment and the Queen’s Guard in London. In Kosovo in 1999 his troop worked ahead of the front line, finding Serbian positions for the NATO bombing campaign, and on 12 June it led the 30,000-strong peacekeeping force from the Macedonian border to Pristina airport. He had a guitar strapped to the outside of his tank throughout the tour, and wrote No Bravery on it while he was there.
He left the army in 2002 and released Back to Bedlam two years later. It has sold more than 12 million copies, went to number one in Britain and number two in America, and outsold every other album released in Britain during the 2000s. You’re Beautiful took the top of the chart in thirteen countries, and All the Lost Souls followed it to number one in twelve.
He plays The O2 arena on Sunday 4 April 2027 with special guests, on the tour behind Airplane Mode. The album is his eighth studio record and came out on 6 November 2026, trailed through the autumn by the singles Tastes Like Summer and Weight Of It All. Back to Bedlam is still among the highest-selling albums in British chart history.
