Frieze London and Frieze Masters run together in The Regent's Park, 14 to 18 October 2026. The Wednesday is invitation only.
Amanda Sharp, Matthew Slotover and Tom Gidley founded Frieze in 1991 as a magazine, and Sharp and Slotover built the fair out of it twelve years later, pitching a temporary structure in The Regent’s Park in October 2003. Frieze Masters followed in 2012, at the opposite corner of the same park, to carry everything from the ancient world to the late twentieth century. The pairing is the point: one tent sells what is being made now, the other sells the six thousand years it came out of.
Frieze London is the reason the international art trade treats the third week of October as London’s, and the week has grown a city around it. The auction houses time their evening sales to it, the galleries hold their strongest openings for it, and the museums schedule against it. Close to 300 galleries from 48 countries and regions show across the two tents this year.
The fairs open together on Wednesday 14 October 2026 and run to Sunday 18 October. The Wednesday is invitation only and the Thursday opens to members at eleven and to general admission from one, with Frieze Masters on Gloucester Green at the north-east corner of the park. Frieze Sculpture stands free in the English Gardens from 16 September to 1 November, a month before the tents go up and a fortnight after they come down.
