Ema Nikolovska and Jonathan Biss: Schubert

Ema Nikolovska and Jonathan Biss give an entire evening to Schubert at Wigmore Hall on Thursday 17 September 2026. The first half gathers early songs — ‘Lied aus der Ferne’, ‘An den Mond’, ‘Die Sommernacht’ — and ends on the ‘Leichenfantasie’, D7. The second half breaks ‘Schwanengesang’ apart, taking ‘Das Fischermädchen’, ‘Die Stadt’, ‘Ihr Bild’ and ‘Der Doppelgänger’ out of sequence and setting them among other late songs. Tickets from £18, two hours with an interval. The recital ends on ‘Abschied von der Erde’, a deathbed scene, rather than on the ‘Doppelgänger’ that would be the obvious close.
