Elisabeth Leonskaja: Schubert

Elisabeth Leonskaja gives an all-Schubert recital at Wigmore Hall on Tuesday 22 September 2026, inside the hall’s Autumn International Piano Festival. The first half pairs the Piano Sonata in B, D575, written when Schubert was twenty, with the four late Impromptus D935; after the interval comes the Sonata in D, D850, composed on a summer visit to Bad Gastein. Leonskaja has recorded the complete Schubert, and this programme sets the early sonata against the late one rather than presenting either on its own terms.
