Sir John Soane's Museum

Exclusive hire of the whole Museum turns every ground- and first-floor room candlelit for the evening, from the Library-Dining Room through the Drawing Rooms to the Picture Room and the Dome. Guests explore at their own pace after an introductory talk, with Museum staff on hand throughout.

The Museum's largest room and its principal dining space, lined with bookshelves, Soane's collection of Greek vases and mirrored recesses that multiply the candlelight. Used for seated dinners and as the anchor room of a Drinks Reception.

Soane's first-floor drawing rooms, decorated in his signature yellow, look out over Lincoln's Inn Fields. Used for pre-dinner drinks and as a reception space in their own right.

A daylit meeting room in No. 14, separate from the main house, with windows over Lincoln's Inn Fields. Hired independently of the evening dinner and reception format, for board meetings, presentations and away days.

The architectural heart of the Museum, its walls and mezzanine dense with classical fragments, casts and the sarcophagus of Seti I, lit from below during evening events. Opened to guests at every Drinks Reception.

Soane's below-stairs kitchens and the atmospheric basement crypt, lit through floor-level apertures in a nod to the burial chambers of ancient Rome. Opened as an add-on to a Drinks Reception for an additional fee.

A small mirrored room, its ceiling and walls set with convex glass that catches and multiplies candlelight. Included on private tours and open during Drinks Receptions.
