Katie Lentakis Memorial Fund Award Ceremony & Lecture 2025 — 'A Life of Socrates in Six Scenes'

The Anglo-Hellenic League marked its 2025 Katie Lentakis Memorial Fund Award with a ceremony and lecture in the Council Room at King’s College London. The evening honoured final-year King’s undergraduates for outstanding essays on Greek subjects, alongside the Mary Margaret McCabe Dissertation Prize in Ancient Philosophy. Professor Emeritus Michael Trapp delivered the keynote, ‘A Life of Socrates in Six Scenes’, taking a set of 1940s trade cards as his point of entry into how the biography of Socrates has been built and rebuilt across the ages. Held in partnership with the College’s Centre for Hellenic Studies, the Department of Classics and the Foundation for Platonic Studies, it was a quietly distinguished gathering of London’s Hellenic scholarly community.
