/ About

Mark Birley opened Harry's Bar on South Audley Street in 1979, taking the Venetian original as his model: an Italian dining club of low light and no visible effort. Nina Campbell's interiors are still the frame, with Fortuny fabrics, Venetian chandeliers and the Peter Arno cartoons from The New Yorker hung edge to edge in red frames. The kitchen cooks northern Italian food, much of it finished at the table.

The club passed from the Birley family to Richard Caring in 2007 and sits alongside Oswald's and George in the Birley group. Behind the striped awnings at number 26 there are three rooms: a dining room of round tables under Murano glass, a bar in backlit onyx, and a mirrored private room built around a single table.

The club is available for exclusive hire, for seated dinners and for standing receptions, arranged through the Birley private events team and sponsored by a member. It publishes no capacity figures; numbers are confirmed on enquiry.
